Latest software news:
Child PIP v3.0 has been launched! The software has an easier installation, improved data entry efficiency and extended data analysis capability (including time-trend analyses). This version comes with all health facilities 'preloaded' for South African users. International users will be able to install a blank database and enter their own health facility names.
Please contact your provincial co-ordinator to obtain a copy
of the Child PIP version 3.0.1 (build 162) CD!
Remember to consult the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) sheet before you start using the new programme.
An up-to-date Release History is available on the website - please read this if you are experiencing any problems. If you cannot find the solution, please contact your Provincial Co-ordinator or a member of the Child PIP Exco.
As the programme is further developed and refined, Updates will be placed on the website to fix any bugs that are identified. Save the Update (.sql) files onto your C drive, using the link, then right-click the required update and select 'Save' (to C:/Program Files/chip/Updates). The Updates may run automatically when you next open Child PIP or you may then need to run them manually (from "File" drop-down on Child PIP main menu screen, select "Database Update"). The Updates should be run in order, and all subsequent updates should be run again after re-running a previous Update.
From time-to time a new build will be released. To download the latest build (184), click here and save the .zip file to C:/Program Files/chip. You will need to unzip the file and it will then replace your current build in the chip folder. Please note: you can only update your build in this way if you have previously successfully installed the version 3.0 programme (from the CD).
